What is your name, and where are you based?

My name is Hayley Woodason, and I recently moved from Seattle to Tennessee.

What inspired you to become a personal trainer & nutrition coach?

I have always been into working out, being active, and eating healthy. But whenever I was pregnant with my first daughter, a new passion struck inside me. I learned so much about pre and post-natal fitness after becoming a mom. I am stronger today than any other day before kids. I just found a way to get the most from my workout and a meal plan that compliments my current fitness journey.

The mentality I have heard so often is that moms have “let themselves go” or don’t have enough time, or are overwhelmed by the amount of choice out there. I care so much about the mom feeling that way, and I wanted to have an opportunity to help those people.

Tell us about your experience as a personal trainer & nutrition coach so far.

I have enjoyed being a personal trainer and nutrition coach. I have found that there is so much fitness information out there, and people need clarity and direction. Providing workouts and a nutrition plan for people is so fulfilling because I can sense the freedom they now have in their life not to have to think so much about how to tackle their fitness goals. I was a character coach before, so I genuinely enjoy talking, coaching, and getting to know people as well.

What is your approach to coaching? Do you have a particular style or method?

I am a personal lifestyle trainer. I want my clients to have a sustainable healthy lifestyle. I help people find what barriers are between them and their fitness goals. I help my clients get wins under their belts so they can stride toward their goals!

What’s the best piece of health or wellness advice you have received?

“I am the only one who has control over what I think about myself and how I take care of myself.” I love this because it encourages me to do what is best for my body. I never feel bad or guilty for the time it takes to work out and get my heart rate up because it is crucial for my health. This quote makes me better every day.

What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not coaching?

My favorite thing in the world is spending time with my husband and my two daughters. I love snowboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, watching movies, and longboarding with my husband.

How do you de-stress?

Lots of times, working out is my stress reliever. Other times cooking, cleaning, or going out to get coffee can do the trick. :)

How do you stay motivated and accountable?

I am naturally highly motivated and disciplined. Some things that fuel that fire are I want to be active with my kids; I am now taking care of my 70-year-old self, I want to snowboard with my husband even when I am old, I want to model a healthy lifestyle for my girls. I guess being future-focused keeps me motivated.

What does your morning routine look like?

I make coffee, read my Bible, journal in my 5-year journal, journal in both my girls 5-year journals (I want to remember these days of staying home with them. They are two years old and eight months.) I go to the YMCA to work out, and my girls go to the childcare there. Then I come home and make food for everyone. Then I will go outside or to a playground with my girls! This is my morning before lunch every day. :)

What do you enjoy most about coaching through the Verb platform?

I love how the app charts my clients’ habits. I have never seen anything like it, and I believe it is helping so many people track habits and build new ones!

What’s your theme/goal for 2021?

I am intentional and joyful. I am loving life, and I want to enjoy every moment this year. I want to give my undivided attention to my husband, my daughters, and anyone I come across each day so they know that I am for them!

What’s your favorite recipe or the food you enjoy most?

1) Breakfast sandwich — Dave’s bread, eggs, Kerrygold cheese, avocado mayo, mixed greens

2) Extra Creamy Oat milk in my coffee

3) Dark Chocolate Kodiak Cake mix of my sort of concoction for a sweet treat.

Those are my top favorites right now.
